My latest middle grade book Strays releases June 2, 2026. This book comes from a truly personal place, and we’re getting there. I promise it’ll be worth it.

In the meantime, here at WNW, we’re inclusive of all noses - wet, dry, or scaly. Today’s Wet Nose Wednesday features the very wet nose of Tulip the beaver, whose first year of life was pretty rough by beaver standards.
Tulip's story had me thinking about the unexpected chain reaction of our decisions and actions. In this case, Holley’s decision to take Tulip into Something Wild sanctuary had a positive impact – not just on Tulip’s life but eventually on the lives of two orphaned beaver pups that Tulip took in and cared for as her own.
Everything’s connected, y’all. And isn’t that some kind of beautiful?
As I say, animals bring so much hope, humor, love and compassion into our lives. As I continue with Wet Nose Wednesday, I want to share heartwarming and extraordinary tales (and sometimes tails) about the greatness and inspiration of animals and the people who honor them. Let's keep making the world better. For them and for us.
