My latest middle grade book Strays releases June 2, 2026. This book comes from a truly personal place, but we’ll save the rest of that for a future blog post.

I will say this. Sometimes, even in the midst of awful circumstance, beauty and perfection can still exist. Not perfection in the sense of flawlessness, but perfection in the sense that everything aligns as it needs to.

Case in point on today’s Wet Nose Wednesday: this sweet pup was dumped in a neighborhood and left to fight for survival. Thanks to Zaina's patience that ended being exactly the right spot for the pup, now named Muffin, to find her beautiful forever home.

As I say, animals bring so much hope, humor, love and compassion into our lives. As I continue with Wet Nose Wednesday, I want to share heartwarming and extraordinary tales (and sometimes tails) about the greatness and inspiration of animals and the people who honor them. Let's keep making the world better. For them and for us.
